Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL59 Beat team covering, Sileby, Barrow Upon Soar, Cossington, Cotes, Hoton, Seagrave and the Wolds. Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

We are aware of a rise in ASB‑related incidents in and around the park area, particularly at weekends and late at night. Reports indicate that groups of youths are congregating and using off‑road bikes illegally and in an antisocial manner, causing noise, nuisance, and concern for nearby residents. The beat team is increasing targeted patrols in the area and working with partner agencies to identify those involved. We encourage residents to report any sightings of illegal off‑road bike use or related ASB to us via 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress. Your information helps us take positive action and keep the community safe.

We are working hard to tackle the issues in and around Sileby Memorial Park in relation to some fires that have been set in the park. Youths have set fires to bins, playground equipment and compost bins. PCSO 6031 Charlie has been working alongside the Fire service conducting patch walks and working collaboratively to help tackle this issue. If you have any information this, please report it to your local beat team.

Drug dealing and drug use in and around the park area in Sileby.

We continue to try and target Burglary offences. The beat team will be continuing high‑visibility patrols in key locations to help detect & deter offenders. We will also be engaging with residents in the affected areas to offer tailored crime‑prevention advice and discuss practical steps to strengthen home security.

We are continuing to work closely with partner agencies to address reports of anti‑social behaviour in the village and local parks. Individuals identified as being involved will receive appropriate warnings, following a stepped and proportionate approach. Patrols continue in the affected areas, in order to identify those responsible. Where off‑road bikes are being used illegally or in an antisocial manner, we will take action with a view to seizing the vehicles. Evening patrols have been continue, supported by the deployment of the ASB car to help target those causing the issues. A dedicated problem‑management plan is now in place to support our ongoing efforts to reduce this behaviour and improve safety for the community.

We are carrying out focused patrols in known hotspot areas to identify individuals involved in drug dealing and drug use. These patrols aim to disrupt activity, gather valuable intelligence, and strengthen our links with local residents who can help us address the issue. We are also actively developing intelligence with a view to appropriate enforcement action where possible. If you have information to support this priority, please contact your local beat team.

With burglary remaining a key priority for the beat team, we have continued to maintain a strong and visible presence in the areas most affected. This approach will remain in place as we work to reduce burglary offences and take firm, proportionate action against anyone found to be involved. Our focus is on prevention through enforcement, target hardening, supporting affected residents, and keeping the community safe.
