Kids on Roofs

Good Afternoon Oakham,

We’ve received reports of young people climbing onto the roofs of buildings in Oakham. While this may seem like harmless fun, it is extremely dangerous and could result in serious injury or worse.

Roofs are not designed to be accessed in this way. There is a significant risk of falling, unstable surfaces, and damage to property, as well as the potential for emergency services having to respond.

👉 Parents and carers: please take time to speak with your children about the dangers and reinforce why this behaviour is not safe.

👉 Young people: if you see this post, please think carefully before taking risks — your safety is important.

If you see anyone on a roof or believe someone may be putting themselves in danger, please report it so action can be taken before someone gets hurt.
