Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage since our last update on the 15th of January.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of vehicle tyres being let down on the Hinckley Road Car park. These incidents have sporadically happened over the last 5 weeks. If you have any information around those involved, please pop me an email. 26000033453 Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Report of youths trying car doors near the Moat House between 03:15-03:30 on the morning of the 18th and a report from Lucas Road (near Featherstone Drive) at 23:25 on the 19th of a suspect with torch in garden trying door handle. Officers attended and completed an area search. We have also completed some follow up work to try and identify those involved. If you have any CCTV of the above incidents, please get in touch.
We have received a report of an attempt garage break on Jubilee Way between 01:15-01:30 on the morning of the 21st of January. Whilst we have been completing CCTV checks in the area today, if you have any footage of a van arriving/leaving the area around this time, please get in touch. If you live on or around Britannia Road, Jubilee Way area, please check your CCTV. 26000038481
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Pc Davidson visited Sketchley Primary school area during school leaving time. He challenged multiple motorists around parking on or near junctions, blocking access and pavement parking. We will be trying to complete further patrols around all infant/junior schools and Hinckley Road Nursery due to a report of verbal abuse towards a resident following inconsiderate parking.
We have continued with patrols around the village, completed crime prevention leaflet drops in multiple areas including the new build areas, and we have also been supporting Burbage residents with crime reduction items such as window alarms and RFID car wallets. Other work includes dealing with neighbour disputes, responding to calls and completing work around the recent fence damage.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Whilst incidents of residential burglary have thankfully dropped off this week, please continue to be mindful around home security and vehicle security. As there have been several reports of suspicious activity, which appears to be shed/garage related, please ensure sheds are locked and alarmed and ensure CCTV and outdoor lighting are working. Please call 999 immediately if you see a crime in progress.
Thank you and take care.
