Welcome to the latest Birstall & Wanlip Round-Up!
The Beat Team is back on duty and continuing the great work where 2025 left off—representing and supporting the residents of Birstall, Wanlip, and the emerging Broadnook Garden Village.
Residential Burglaries
Over the Christmas and New Year period, there has been a noticeable decrease in residential burglaries within the Birstall and Wanlip area. The Beat Team is pleased to report that the previously identified suspect is scheduled to appear in court during the first half of the New Year, which is a positive step toward addressing these concerns. However, we continue to urge all residents to review their home security measures. The Beat Team remains available to provide tailored security advice and support to anyone who wishes to discuss ways to protect their property.
Antisocial Behaviour (ASB)
Incidents of ASB at Birstall North Services have decreased, which is encouraging. Nevertheless, we are still receiving occasional reports both at this location and across the wider village. The Beat Team will continue to monitor these issues closely and work alongside partner agencies to implement the incremental approach, prioritizing restorative options where appropriate.

Residents have expressed significant concerns about Harassment, Alarm, and Distress linked to these gatherings. PCSO 6174 Jon Harrison has initiated engagement with local residents to gather their views and is working in collaboration with PS 4017 John Merola and PC 1947 Dave Bennett to formulate an action plan. This will include:
The Beat Team will pursue restorative options and proactive measures to address this issue effectively.

10:00AM – 12:00AM, Friday 16th January 2026
