Burbage Police. Attempt Burglary And Suspicious Behaviour Quick Update. BE AWARE. |
||
|
Hello Resident,
Just a quick message to update you on a couple of reports from last night.
At 18:05 on the 4th of January, we received one call to report three suspects going into gardens on Sketchley Lane. It appears they knocked on a door but hid and ran off when spotted by a resident. Officers attended the area quickly and completed an area search. LEP-040126-0472
At 19:54, we then received a report of an attempt residential burglary on Newstead Avenue. Suspects have smashed the outer glass of the rear patio door but fled the scene immediately. Police were called and attended quickly to complete work in the area. 26000006701
It is suspected these incidents were vehicle related. Please ensure you use steering locks and consider home security such as window alarms, CCTV and outdoor lighting. Criminals may target vehicles that are keyless, high performance and high value such as Range Rovers and Audi’s.
We have attended and spoken to callers/victims upon receiving these calls, including door to door, CCTV work, area searches, and we have also completed follow up work today to support in identifying those involved. No entry was gained to either property from these reports, and no residents were confronted by the suspects. Suspects fled when they were seen or disturbed. If you have any information or CCTV around these suspects or suspect vehicle, please pop me an email. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
As in both above incidents, it is vital that you call the Police on 999 immediately if you see a crime in progress such as burglary. This gives us the best opportunity to get to the area as the crime is happening and to try and locate the suspects. This may also help prevent other residents becoming victims. Please continue to be vigilant and if you would like any crime reduction support, see our attached catalogue and pop me an email to darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Thank you and take care.
