Some useful tips

Dear Resident,  

We hope you all had a wonderful festive period. As we head into the new year, with hours of darkness still closing in, we thought to share some useful tips with you based off crime trends and statistics. 

As you may be aware, a concern of residents of the South Wigston Fairfield Estate has been that of burglaries. When we look at the type of burglary that is carried out in this area, we see some trends and patterns. 

This is what burglars are doing

What are we doing? Whilst you may not always see us, we are patrolling the Fairfield Estate and South Wigston daily, and very regularly. We have a combination of high visibility patrols, on-foot patrols and covert patrols. These are carried out each day and night 24/7. Sometimes we are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and sometimes, we will deter burglars who see our presence and have second thoughts. We have seen that some burglaries have been committed by males with West Midlands and / or Irish accents. We think that a small group of individuals have been targeting certain areas, and our investigation into who these individuals are is ongoing. Our Crime and Intelligence Directorate are heavily involved with every burglary, as are we, along with the force intelligence team and local response teams. We want to assure you that we are paying heavy attention to this area and progress is being made. 

We hope this provides some reassurance to you that your concerns are heard, listened to, and acted upon. We are doing all we can to make everyone feel safe - and in return - we ask that you all report any suspicious activity, no matter how trivial it may seem.
