|
These are the new beat priorities for the Cultural Quarter going into 2026!
Addressing Anti-Social Behaviour in Open Spaces For the first quarter of 2026 we will be focused on tackling anti-social behaviour. Over the coming weeks, we will be: - Carrying out more patrols in locations where concerns have been raised. - Engaging with residents and young people to understand issues and offer support. - Working with partners to address repeat problem areas. - Using enforcement when necessary against persistent or disruptive behaviour.
We encourage residents to report any incidents of ASB, as this helps us target our patrols and respond more effectively. Together, we can keep our open spaces safe and enjoyable for all.
Preventing Burglary and Retail Theft Your local beat team is continuing its work to reduce burglary and retail theft across the area. We are focusing on both prevention and visibility to help keep homes and businesses safe.
- Targeted Patrols: Officers are increasing patrols in areas where burglary or shop theft has recently been reported. - Working with Local Businesses: We are supporting retailers with crime?prevention advice, reviewing CCTV opportunities, and helping staff recognise suspicious behaviour. - Crime Prevention Advice: We continue to share guidance with residents on securing homes, locking windows and doors, and using simple deterrents such as lighting timers and security alarms. - Identifying Repeat Offenders: We work with partners to monitor suspects and take proportionate enforcement action where needed.
We encourage residents and businesses to report suspicious activity promptly, as this helps us build an accurate picture of where to focus patrols and problem-solving work. Together, we can help reduce these offences and keep our community safe.
Safer Nights Out for Women Leicester City Police are committed to helping ensure that women can enjoy evenings out safely and confidently across our community. Working with partners, venues, and local services, we are focusing on practical measures that support safety.
- Increased patrols around the night‑time economy, including key transport routes and late‑night venues. - Working with licensed premises to promote safe‑venue practices, staff training, and clear reporting routes for concerns. - Providing safety advice around travel, drink‑spiking awareness, and looking out for friends. - Supporting local initiatives such as safe spaces, bystander training, and partnerships that help people get home safely.
We encourage anyone who feels unsafe or has concerns during a night out to speak with officers, venue staff, or contact police via the usual channels.
