NL63 Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL63 Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
– PCSO 6078 Mia Fortune
ASB We are continuing to focus on anti-social behaviour concerns in the local area. A meeting has taken place with Tesco management to address issues involving vehicles at the car park, and the store has installed a new camera system to help identify vehicles linked to these incidents. Officers are carrying out regular patrols to provide reassurance and deter further problems. In addition, we have received reports of youths causing ASB by knocking on doors, and work is ongoing to identify those involved. Extra patrols are being conducted to reassure residents, and we remain committed to working with partners and the community to reduce anti-social behaviour and take appropriate action against those responsible.
Drugs We continue to focus on addressing reports of drug use and drug dealing in the area, working closely with partners to tackle this issue. A partial closure order has been issued by the court and implemented at an address identified as a location of concern, helping to disrupt criminal activity. Officers are carrying out regular patrols across all areas highlighted as problematic to provide reassurance and deter further offences. Intelligence gathering remains a key part of our approach, and we are committed to acting swiftly on any new information received to ensure those responsible are dealt with appropriately.
Theft Retail theft has increased significantly compared to last year, and tackling this issue remains a key priority for the beat team. A meeting has taken place with Tesco to agree on a joint approach, and officers are conducting regular patrols to provide reassurance and deter further incidents. We are working closely with the store to develop long-term solutions, including obtaining Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) against repeat offenders. Intelligence is being gathered, and enforcement action is underway to deal with those responsible.
