Burbage Police. Merry Christmas And Thank You. |
||
|
Hello Resident,
A short message today just to say thank you for your support and ratings to these messages throughout the year, and we wish you a Very Merry Christmas.
There is nothing of community concern to report since our last update, so we hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas.
We visited the Carols around the Tree event on Church Street. Fantastic turnout and a lovely community event. It was nice to pop into St Catherine's Church and catch up with a few familiar faces.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
If you need the police, please call or report via the following numbers/links.
Emergency 999
Non-emergency 101

Scam alert (sent in by resident) Amazon QR code scams
Scammers are sending cards through the post which claim to be from Amazon and include dodgy QR codes. When scanned with your phone or tablet, these QR codes (the 2D barcode images made up of black and white squares) lead to dodgy websites that aim to steal your personal information. The fake postcards claim to offer freebies through Amazon's 'Early Reviewer Program', which actually ended in 2021
Remember, if it’s too good to be true, it usually is. Never give personal details such as bank details or your home address.
As we head towards January, please continue to be mindful around crime such as keyless car thefts and residential burglary. Whilst these types of crime have reduced over recent weeks, please stay alert and report suspicious activity/crime in progress, immediately to the Police.

Details in these messages are based on information we have at the time of writing. Details can change as investigations progress. We raise awareness around local concerns which may be of community concern where appropriate, in order to reduce crime, raise awareness and support investigations.
We need your help to keep our phone lines clear for emergencies. If your call isn't an emergency, see if the information or service you need is on our website www.leics.police.uk. before you call 101. You can use our website to report crimes or incidents at a time convenient for you. We urge you to call 999 in an emergency - if you or someone else are in immediate danger, or a crime is in progress.
