Burbage Police Update. Vehicle Theft, Anti-social Behaviour And Are You Going Away? |
||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a theft of a grey Ford Fiesta from Church Street (near the Moat house/New Road). Incident occurred between 22:00 on Monday 8th and 07:00 on Tuesday the 9th. It is unknown how the suspects entered the vehicle as it was not keyless, and it had a steering lock fitted. If you have any information or CCTV in the area and have not spoken to us, please get in touch. 25000718227 Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Report of anti-social behaviour (riding bicycle at speed near elderly resident and slamming on brakes) near the premier shops on Boyslade Road after school. We are working with local shops and schools to identify those involved. If you have children that may hang around this area after school, please support us with identifying those involved. This type of behaviour can be very intimidating and cause people to change their routines, which really is not fair. It does appear to only be one or two involved, but it would be good to identify those involved to stop this from happening again.
Report of attempt thefts from new builds on Maines Close (bottom of Bullfurlong Lane). Properties still being built were targeted and items such as kitchen units and power cables were targeted. It does not appear anything has been taken. Incident occurred between 18:00 on the 10th and 08:00 on the 11th. If you saw or heard anything overnight in this area, please get in touch. 25000723018
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been completing patrols around Burbage. Areas include Woodland Avenue, Kensington Avenue, East Close, Flanders Close, Herald Way, Atkins Way, Azalea Drive area, Hotels, Parks and many more areas.
We have been working with residents to support with crime reduction which includes home visits, supporting victims of recent crime, and we are trying to work with Sketchley Primary school to address some recent local concerns regarding parking issues. We also have a few group visits planned in this week.
So far this month, Police have received 71 calls. 21 of these calls were emergency and 17 were priority calls. The bulk of these calls were domestic related, transport or concerns for safety. If you see a crime in progress, please call Police immediately, 101 Non emergency or 999 emergency.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
As we continue to get sporadic reports of residential burglary and have seen a couple of vehicles stolen over the last week, please ensure you are aware of these potential crimes and ensure to be mindful around your home and vehicle security. I have attached our crime reduction items catalogue if this can be any help to you. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
If you are planning to go away over Christmas and New Year, please ensure valuables are removed or well-hidden, and ensure your property looks occupied. Please use steering locks and try to “Block in” any high powered or expensive vehicles you may be leaving at home. If you are away for an extended period, consider that Christmas decorations outside may look a bit odd come mid-January and criminals may take note of this.
Thank you and take care.
