Lock Up Securely Always lock doors and windows, even when you’re at home or in the garden.Use deadlocks or additional security devices where possible.2. Keep Valuables Out of Sight Avoid leaving keys, wallets, or electronics near windows or doors.Consider using blinds or curtains to prevent opportunistic thieves from seeing inside.3. Light Up Your Home Use timer switches for lights when you’re out, especially during darker evenings.Motion-sensor lights outside can deter intruders.4. Secure Your Garden Lock sheds and garages; keep tools and ladders out of sight.Ensure fences and gates are in good condition.5. Be a Good Neighbour Look out for suspicious activity and report it immediately.If you see something unusual, call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
