Priority updates |

|
Hello Western Ward Residents. Along with our other policing business we have 3 identified priority areas as you will see on our Leicestershire Police web page. As it is the 1st December we wanted to share an update with you. The priorities and actions are listed below for your information, Priority 1. Cropston Close, Leicester has seen a considerable increase in crime and disorder in the last couple of months leading to officers being assaulted and numerous items of stolen property being recovered from the street. Actions Officers have continued to visit and be a presence in the area with targeted patrols and plain clothes, Since 1st November to date there have been no reported incidents to the Police. Contact has been maintained with Riverside regarding the actions taken with the Acceptable Behaviour Agreement and Community Protection Notice previously issued.
Priority 2. Crime and disorder continue to be reported in Bonney Road including vehicles being stolen, disorder and person carrying weapons. These reports make residents feel unsafe in their own neighbourhood. Actions The beat team have continued with patrols of the area in both visible patrols and plain clothed patrols. During the month of November we have had 1 report of a theft of a car as a result of a burglary. There have been some reports of disorder on Bonney Rd, this was however targeted and did not involve the wider community. Police inquiry's remain on going with one incident and suspects to other incident being arrested and remain on bail. We worked closely with our partner agencies and patrols are on-going.
Priority 3. Dangerous and illegal use of vehicles around the Western Ward continue to be reported and raised as concerns by local residents especially at our Ward meeting during August. Actions During December we have continued to target inconsiderate and dangerous parking outside our local schools. We had success on 18th November with a repeat offender having his car seized and reported for traffic offences. We will continue to monitor and take the appropriate actions. Our open spaces have also been patrolled and monitored for misuse.
To get involved in setting future priorities please complete surveys found within the Leicestershire police website. We use the data provided to shape our priorities moving forward.
Many thanks
