– PCSO 6861 Sam Trantom
Particular areas of concern include St James Road and its connected to local hostels. Evington Rd (Cleanliness, fly tipping, bin misuse, parking, bus stop CCTV), patch walks with multi-agencies, patrols, and Cllr meetings and local crime summit
Drug dealing (St James Rd, South Highfields including Lincoln Street, Conduit Street, College St, Upper Tichborne Street)
Road Safety, parking and Speeding. In particular, zig zag parking on Evington Road, junction blocking off this main strip, and speeding on Key streets including Evington Lane and Stoughton Drive North leading to Evington Road
During last month’s patch walk, concerns were raised about hostels on and around St James Road. In response, local officers have worked alongside the Community Safety Team from the council and met with the manager of one of the hostels on St James Road. At this meeting, clear advice was provided along with expectations from both the police and the Community Safety Team to ensure the hostel is managed responsibly and does not negatively impact local residents. Since this engagement, we have seen a decrease in calls from the surrounding area, suggesting that improvements are being made. However, there is still work to do to fully resolve the issues. We encourage all residents experiencing anti-social behaviour (ASB) to complete diary sheets, as these provide valuable evidence to help us tackle ASB effectively.
This month, PC Woolley has been working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) following the arrest of a suspect involved in drug importation and drug dealing around the Upper Tichborne Street area. As a result of this collaboration, PC Woolley has successfully secured: The suspect will now attend court for a hearing, where it will be determined whether they are found guilty of these offences. This outcome demonstrates the continued commitment of local officers to tackling drug-related crime and keeping our community safe.
During this month, PC Woolley has been working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) regarding a serious incident involving a fight with weapons that occurred on Evington Road in May 2024. After a thorough investigation, which included gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and speaking to witnesses, the CPS has now issued multiple charges against those involved. These charges include: The case will now proceed to court, where a trial will determine whether the suspects are found guilty of these offences. This outcome reflects the continued efforts of local officers to address violent crime and ensure the safety of our community.
This month, PCSO Trantom has been working alongside our Road Safety Team to gain a clearer picture of where speeding concerns are most prevalent within Stoneygate Ward. Using data collected throughout 2025, we examined key roads in the area, including: The data is analysed in four-hour segments, providing insight into the average speeds recorded at different times of the day. This approach allows us to identify: With this information, we can target enforcement more effectively, ensuring resources are deployed where they will have the greatest impact on improving safety for all road users.
