Below are the crime stats for the 45 days since my last update (08/09/2025 – 23/10/2025)

🛡️ Neighbourhood Policing Update – Loughborough Town Centre

Keeping Our Community Safe and Connected

Over the past few weeks, our neighbourhood team has been working hard to ensure Loughborough Town Centre remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Here's what we've been up to:

📹 Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
We have had several incidents involving youths entering stores particularly Devonshire Square and causing harassment, alarm and distress to the customers, staff and owners. These youths have been positively identified, and action has been taken. All these youths behaviour will be monitored and dealt with accordingly.  

🛴🚲Motorbikes/Mopeds/Dirt Bikes

The complaints of nuisance off road bikes being rode at speed and in an unsafe manner are still being received, especially in the Ashby Ward end of town. The beat team are aware of the issues being raised including public safety. We take these reports seriously and are continuing trying to identify the suspects.

Neighbourhood consultations are a good opportunity to discuss your neighbourhood concerns and meet your local policing team.

                                                                         Our Priorities (01/10/2025)

Currently remain the same. 

To reduce the number of thefts in and around Loughborough town centre

Cycle register schemes continue, and it is pleasing to note that there has been a significant decrease in the number of cycle theft reports.

Working closely with the town centre security wardens, we have seen a decrease in the number of thefts.

We have linked in with several stores who have been repeatedly targeted to help reduce the number of thefts they are having. With that several arrests and remands have been made as a result.

Reduce Anti-social behaviour reported by residents across the local area in varying formats including car cruise meetings, noisy parties, youths causing issues in the town centre.

Additional officers are currently being deployed as part of Operation Lexical, whereby officers will patrol in and around Loughborough town centre to combat reports of anti-social behaviour

The safer streets team are deployed into the town centre to tackle ASB in the vicinity, they work closely alongside council and retail establishments to tackle this behaviour.

There are an increasing number of e-bikes and e-scooters being used in the town centre which is causing a potential danger to pedestrians.

Action taken:

Operation Pedal fast is currently ongoing to tackle this issue; officers will be taking robust action against those riding illegal e-scooters.

Our dedicated beat team work closely with the safer streets team to offer information to the public around e-scooters at beat engagements and information stalls.

Our social media channels continue to be updated with the steps we are taking to tackle this issue.

📍 Stay local, stay visible, stay safe!

✅ Top Tips for Trick-or-Treaters        
• Stick with an adult or group
• Wear bright or reflective costumes
• Only visit homes with lights on
• Never enter a stranger’s home or car
• Check treats before eating

🏠 For Residents
• Keep paths well-lit
• Use battery candles in pumpkins
• Respect “No Trick-or-Treat” signs

🚗 Drivers – Slow Down!
Watch for excited little ghosts and ghouls crossing roads.
