Burbage Police Weekly Update. Vehicle Crime And Cannabis Use. |
||
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Since our last update, we have received 24 calls to Police, 4 were emergency and 5 were priority calls.
Report from Kensington Avenue that at around 02:00 – 02:09 on the morning of the 12th, suspects drilled the lock on the rear patio door and took keys to a Land Rover defender. The vehicle was later recovered, and forensic work is being completed. Whilst we have been in the area completing CCTV work, if you live in the wider area such as Welbeck Avenue or the streets running off it, please have a look at any CCTV you may have that could help us. 25000537578
Report of two suspects on Far Lash at around 03:37 on the morning of the 13th, checking car doors and it appears making attempts to take vehicles. This was followed by a further report at 03:56 on Forrester’s Road (between Far Lash and Rosewood Close) where a suspect was seen trying to gain entry via a back door. Vehicles that appear to be targeted are Mercedes and a Ford Focus. Thankfully no entry was made and nothing was taken. 25000540698 if you can provide any CCTV that will support our investigations.
We often get reports of this type of activity when residents review CCTV, if you see this activity at the time, Please call 999 immediately.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We completed our Beat surgery at the SPAR where we spoke to staff and local residents around a range of issues. We have also continued with our school patrols regarding parking in the areas of Hastings, Sketchley and Burbage Inf/Jnr’s.
Other work this week includes concerns of Cannabis use from residential addresses. We have been completing door knocks, leaflet drops and speaking to residents. As a result, we have worked with HBBC, where letters have been issued, and residents have been challenged. If you have issues with drug use/dealing from a property in Burbage, please report using these links.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Whilst we have had a few good months with low levels of vehicle crime and residential burglary, the few incidents over the 12th and 13th have shown this type of crime has increased this week. Please ensure doors are locked, steering locks are used and consider items such as window alarms, fence cactus spikes and alarmed padlocks. Our crime prevention products catalogue was attached to our last email. We sell these items at cost. Basic crime prevention can deter criminals. Please pop me an email if you would like any support darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Thank you and take care.
