Checking in on your neighbours
Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen a rise in burglaries across the Bardon Beat. With some of the victims being the most vulnerable in our society.
Officers have been conducting reassurance patrols and house too house enquires in relation to these incidents.
How to Help Your Vulnerable Neighbours
Check in on them:
Contact your neighbours, especially those who are elderly or vulnerable, to see if they need any help or if they’ve noticed anything suspicious.
Offer practical assistance:
If they’re going away, offer to keep an eye on their home or help with any tasks they may struggle with.
Share crime prevention tips:
Be a source of information on how to keep their homes secure, such as ensuring doors and windows are locked and using security lights.
Report suspicious activity:
If you see anything that seems unusual or suspicious, report it to the police.
