Local Priorities Road Safety - Speeding in the Community Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety - Speeding in the Community, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Good Afternoon Rutland ,

Today myself, PC GEORGE and PC WILL attended a road traffic collision (RTC) involving a tractor and a car, with the piece of agricultural equipment going through the passenger windscreen. The RTC was primarily caused by excessive speed from the car and not driving to the weather conditions at the time๐Ÿš— ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ .

Unfortunately, the cars four tyres were also under the legal tread limit with the wire sticking out of the tyre, this wouldโ€™ve also caused an impact as when the driver attempted to bring his vehicle to a stop the car skidded down the road ๐Ÿ˜ฒ .

Fortunately, all parties involved in the incident are safe and well with no long-lasting injuries, HOWEVER this could have been a very different outcome.

Please use this post as a reminder to check your tyres and check your speed when driving โ— .
