Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Since our last update on the 9th of July, there has been 31 calls to Police regarding matters in Burbage. 6 of these calls were emergency and 6 were priority calls. These calls include concerns for safety, dangerous driving and animal related issues.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
A bit of good news regarding last weeks reports of vehicle thefts from Brookside and Sketchley Road. Both vehicles have been recovered and multiple arrests made.
A motorist on the M69 junction was stopped by officers at 01:00 on the morning of the 15/07/2025. As a result, the driver was arrested for the offences of drink drive and possession of a class A drug.
Stop check/search completed on Church Street. One female arrested on the 11/07/2025 at around 04:20.
We have also recovered a stolen vehicle in Burbage that had been stolen from another area earlier in the day.
Due to resident requests, we completed a community speed watch event in the area. Here are the results. We will be visiting other roads over the coming weeks. Action taken from these events ranges from tickets (dependant on Police resource during the event), to phone calls and letters to registered keepers/businesses. We try to target roads that are raised as concerns by residents that the road safety side of Policing cannot/do not visit.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Please be mindful regarding caravan thefts, motor homes and residential burglaries. Please consider blocking in caravans, using bollards and good outdoor lighting is always a good way of deterring criminals. As we are in the holiday season, these types of crime may increase.
We will be at the Three pots post office between 15:00-16:30 on Friday 18th July.
Thank you and take care.
