Burbage Police Weekly Update. Vehicle Crime, Drugs Arrests Again And End of Term Patrols.


Hello Resident,

 

We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week. It has been another busy week where we have received 27 calls to Police relating to Burbage. 5 of these calls were emergency and 3 priority calls. Calls include road related matters, violence/domestic and anti-social behaviour. 

 

Reported Crime and Appeals

 

  • Report of a motorists tyres being slashed. There are ongoing issues on East Close where vehicles are being targeted whilst being parked in legal locations. This incident occurred on the 2nd July. 25000386098. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk if you have witnessed any damage to vehicles or have any information relating to this area.   
  • Report of a theft of rear registration plate from a vehicle on Lutterworth Road between 14:00 and 16:00on the 4th of July. 
  • Report of a theft of a Red Ford Fiesta from Horsepool area between 13:00 on the 5th and 09:00 on the 6th of July. 25000393607 if you have any information.

    Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement

     

    Whilst officers where in the area of Brookside on the 6th July, 2 persons were spotted by officers where the suspects ran. Two persons were caught and searched. As a result, 2 arrests made for possession with intent to supply

     

    Due to the schools closing for the holidays this week, we will be completing targeted patrols around school areas and parks this week. End of term time can attract issues such as organised fights and an increase in anti-social behaviour. We have previously completed work at local schools to educate children around the consequences of engaging in this type of behaviour. 

     

    Due to some recent incidents such as a road traffic collisions and complaints of speeding, we will be out and about this week at targeted locations in response to resident feedback, to address these concerns. 

     

    Crime prevention and issues to be aware of

     

    Please be mindful around opportunistic criminals where they may target vehicles and residential properties. Pop me an email if you would like any support around crime reduction items and please call 999 immediately if you see a crime in progress. Whilst over recent weeks we have completed multiple arrests due to drug supply, please ensure any activity around drugs are reported so we can target this behaviour.
