I am appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious incident that occurred on the A42 on 2nd July around 1530hrs.  A rock was thrown off one of the over bridges in the Oakthorpe area and went through the windscreen of a car travelling on the A42 below smashing it and nearly hitting the occupant.  Without exaggerating this could easily have resulted in a serious injury or someone losing their life.
