Good evening from Westcotes Police,
Here is your weekly update on recent developments and ongoing work in your local area.
Over the past week, our team has been proactively addressing theft from motor vehicles. Officers have been patrolling hotspot areas, monitoring patterns of offending, and gathering intelligence to tackle this issue effectively. We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to double-check that all car doors and windows are securely locked. Please ensure no valuables or spare change are left inside, and whenever possible, park in well-lit areas to deter potential offenders.
In other news: Arrest Made: We have successfully arrested a male suspect who was wanted for multiple offences and had been evading police for several months. This is a significant step in ensuring community safety.
Vulnerable Person Safeguarded: Our team acted swiftly to protect a vulnerable individual who was being exploited. Measures have now been put in place to support their safety and wellbeing.
Property Closure: A property known to be used for criminal activity has been closed and secured. This action has brought much-needed relief to local residents and will help restore peace in the area.
Support for Drug User: We have referred a vulnerable drug user to one of our trusted partner agencies to help them access accommodation and additional support services.
Abandoned Vehicle Removed: Working in partnership with the local council, we addressed an abandoned vehicle in the Fosse Road South area that had become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour.
Joint Operation: In collaboration with another police force, we undertook a coordinated operation to safeguard a potential victim of a serious crime. This joint effort helped ensure their safety and demonstrates the power of cross-force teamwork.
Ongoing Community Engagement: Officers are out on the beat today gathering intelligence and engaging with residents to build a clearer picture of local issues. This information is vital in identifying offenders and making our community safer.
We are committed to continuing our work to make Westcotes a safer and stronger place for everyone. Thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe, Westcotes Police | ||||
