BIRSTALL & WANLIP ROUND UP

Hello Everybody,

Welcome to the latest Birstall & Wanlip Round Up, it has admittedly been a fair few weeks since the last time you received a Round Up and a fair few things have happened since then, including the sharp turnaround in the weather which unfortunately saw the return of ASB up at Birstall North Services.

There been a noticeable decrease in reports of Thefts from Motor Vehicles but residents are still to be encouraged to ensure they leave no personal items in their vehicles whether sentimental, of great importance, or neither as the trend that has emerged from previous reports is that any vehicle found insecure or gained entry too, has had items taken regardless of their status to the owner, additionally though we would agree this would go without saying, please remember to lock your vehicles every time after use.

There has also been a noticeable increase in reports of youths/males riding motorbikes/crossbikes/electric bikes both on and off the road ignoring the highway code, stopping traffic and causing general bedlam both on main roads and otherwise;these individuals are invariably wearing face coverings (or to use a quickfire modern idiom, “Clava'd up”) preventing identity plus rarely have registration plates (heavily suggesting theft) and due to their complete lack of respect for the roads, use speed and reckless behaviour therein to get away. Additionally, those wearing no helmet precludes Police Officers pursuing the individuals.

What we would encourage residents to do, besides continuing to report these incidents, is continue to share any information that will assist the Police in identifying these suspects associates, places of residence and any other relevant information that would allow us to catch up with these individuals sans wheels!

If any residents require any crime prevention advice, have any queries, questions or concerns they wish to discuss, the Birstall & Wanlip Local Policing Team are always more than amenable to communications, either via Neighbourhood Link, 101 or online at www.leics.police.uk Additionally, information related to forthcoming Beat Engagements can also be found in the Your Area Search bar on the Leicestershire Police website as well as messages sent out via Neighbourhood Link in advance.

Until next time, stay safe & stay vigilant.
