Rural South Residents on the Rural South Beat often say how nice it is to see a uniformed officer on foot patrol, finding it both reassuring and giving an opportunity to speak to someone about local issues. With this in mind, I left the keys to the police car hanging up and conducted a foot patrol to Asfordby Hill, Asfordby Valley and Asfordby village. As this week is Operation Sceptre, a week-long initiative aimed at removing knives and other bladed articles from our communities, I took the opportunity to carry out a knife sweep in the play park behind the Village Hall in Asfordby following recent reports of Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) by youths in the area. I’m pleased to say nothing was found. Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat to me this morning, it was a pleasure to see so many people. I plan to conduct more foot patrols in other villages across the beat in the coming days, so if you see me, please come and say hello. PCSO 6575 French #yousaidwedid #opsceptre #inyourcommunity
