Last week the Ashby Beat Team attended and took part in the first Hood Park Advisory Group Meeting.

This took place at Legion House on South Street in Ashby.

This was a multi-agency meeting and its objective was to support Hood Park in reaching Green Flag standard.

This is a nationally recognized standard for green spaces and a reward for well-managed and maintained spaces.

In order for this to be accomplished various criteria have to be met and this would include improved lighting , increased CCTV ,and new tree planting

It is hoped that this in turn will establish a more welcoming atmosphere and ensure that local residents and visitors feel safe and secure during their visit.
