Good afternoon Rutland,
As the weathers getting warmer we're getting more reports of sheep worrying, with rural crime being on of our three priorities for the rural north beat here's some information that may come in handy
SO, what is "sheep worrying"? No, it's not sheep stressing about their woolly fashion choices! It's when dogs chase or attack sheep, causing them distress, injury, or even death. 😱 Here are some tips to keep our fluffy friends safe: Keep dogs on a lead near livestock. Even the friendliest pooch can turn into a sheep-chasing machine! Train your dog to obey commands. A well-trained dog is a happy dog (and a happy sheep)! Respect farmers' land. Stick to public paths and avoid wandering into fields with livestock. Report any incidents. If you see a dog worrying sheep, let us know ASAP. stay safe and enjoy the warm weather
