Hello Resident,
Here is an update for the last few days in Burbage. Reports of crime such as vehicle crime and residential burglary remain low this year overall but as we head towards the Easter and Summer holidays, we continue to request residents review their security and be aware.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Reports this week have mainly related to road traffic incidents and domestic related reports.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been out and about speaking to residents, completing patrols including stop checks in the area and responding to calls.
Late night patrols in Burbage around areas such as Brookside, Three Pots Estate, Jury's Inn, Sketchley Grange and Sapcote Road. Stop checks and hi visibility. (Picture - Lutterworth Road)
Whilst out on patrols, we have visited multiple residents, where requested to help with items such as shed alarms/Padlocks and window alarms. We have also booked in some time with Hastings High school to complete some pro-active work with children before the Easter holidays. We will be discussing Anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and other issues to ensure children are aware of the dangers and consequences of their actions.
We are also completing work relating to safeguarding and if you have any information around drug use/dealing or any other concerns, please get in touch. If you do not wish to contact local officers, you can also report via Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Based on historical crime figures (2024), April and May can see an increase in crime such as vehicle crime including motorhomes and tool thefts. Basic prevention measures can reduce these incidents and please feel free to get in touch if you would like any support. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Thank you and take care.
