Good Evening Residents,

We are currently asking residents around Whitworth Avenue, Canal Way, Hinckley if you have seen any suspicious activity, have any CCTV/RING footage that may have captured anything around the material date and times below

01/02/25 – 15.00pm – 11/02/25 – 16.45pm. ( Unfortunately we haven't been made aware of any description, vehicles involved etc….. )

It is in regards to an attempted Burglary. Enquiries are ongoing and further H2H/reassurance patrols to be made by Officers.

We are asking you to remain vigilant and this is we believe at present to be a single event.

There are a number of things you can do to improve security -

1) Make sure doors and windows are locked securely when leaving your property unattended for long periods or when you're not in the room.

2) Use a 24hr Segment Timer, this automatically turns on lights and other appliances. ( These can be purchased online or any reputable retail outlet. Purchased directly from Hinckley Police via one of our Police Volunteers at cost price  ).

3) Attach  Ultra Slim Vibration Alarms - These are easily applied to windows or doors. ( Purchased directly from Hinckley Police via one of our Police Volunteers at cost price )

4) Test burglar alarms regularly and remember to set while you are away.

5) Think about what you post on social media while you are away!

6) Fit sheds, garages and any outbuildings with locks.

7) Look at getting RING camera's or similar and fitting PIR lights in areas that are potentially access points or in darkness.
