Crime update


Following a series of thefts from motor vehicles in October last year two men have since been charged in connection with the reports.

Andrew McDonagh, 50, of Red House Gardens, Leicester, has been charged with four counts of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and eight counts of theft of motor vehicle.

He is due to appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 January.

A second man, Patrick McDonagh, 26, of Schoolgate, Leicester, was charged last year with assault on an emergency worker, seven counts of theft from motor vehicle and three counts of attempted theft from motor vehicle.

He appeared before Leicester Magistrates’ Court in October and was remanded into custody to appear before Leicester Crown Court at a later date.

The charges relate to incidents in Hugglescote. Ashby, Donisthorpe, Wigston and Leicester area.
