Crime reporting methods

Good afternoon,

Having conducted a beat surgery at Age UK, Measham this morning I have been requested by one of our local parish councillors to put a post out regarding the different ways you can report things to Police.  It would seem that some people are a little unsure.  If you need to report something to Police, it can be done by the following methods:

  •  In an emergency where a crime is occurring at the time, or you/someone else are at risk of harm call 999.
  • Where a crime has already occurred or there is no threat of danger call our non-emergency line on 101.
  • Complete an online report via our website www.leics.police.uk
  •

Police calls are graded on the urgency that attendance is required.  Please only report exactly what has happened and do not be tempted to exaggerate what is occurring to elicit a quicker response.

If you have information to pass to your local Police officers which does not concern an incident that has happened, you can do this via our website and selecting the option to contact a member of your beat team.  Alternatively, if you want to pass this information anonymously you can do so by contacting crime stoppers who will then pass onto Police on your behalf.

    Kind Regards

    Russ
