Dear South Leicester Resident You are receiving the following email as a resident living on the Freemen Police Beat.
Tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) across the beat remains a priority for the Freemen team, sadly however even this early into 2025 there have been several reports of ASB related issues in the Saffron Lane area.
There have been reports made that a group of youths have been throwing stones at moving cars and on one occasion a bus on the stretch of road between Old Saffron Lane/Hawkins Road and the athletics stadium.
Thankfully there has been no significant damage to vehicles or any serious accidents caused by this reckless and dangerous behaviour and the team have been out conducting patrols/enquiries, speaking to nearby residents and local schools to prevent this from happing and identifying those involved.
Last week warnings were issued to two individuals after it came to light that both had been involved in several incidents, parents have been spoken to and both have been placed on the incremental approach and will face further action if caught doing this again. I am happy to say that after the warnings were issued there have been no further reports, but work will be ongoing to identify others involved and patrols to continue.
If you have been the victim of this or any other form of ASB then please report it to us also if you live nearby or know who may be involved in the above, then please report it directly to me.
Kind regards. | ||||
