I would like to kindly ask people if they could be extra vigilant in relation to vehicle crime. More specifically in relation to both theft of motor vehicles and theft from motor vehicles. 

We have had some incidents recently of burglaries across the force area where vehicle keys have been stolen from inside the properties in order to steal the cars from driveways etc. There have also been some instances of number plates being stolen from vehicles. These offences go hand in hand with one another as the stolen registrations plates are inevitably used on vehicles that go on to commit crime.

Please be vigilant and If you see any suspicious behaviour or suspicious vehicles in the area, please make us aware and obtain registration numbers where you are able to and safe to do so.

The beat team will be completing regular patrols in the area and the response officers have also been informed of the incidents and will be looking to patrol the area too.
