Keep your motorbike safe from thieves

Hello.

Do you own a motorcycle, moped or a scooter? How secure is it? Where is it kept overnight?

Motorcycle's, mopeds, and scooters can be stolen in a matter of seconds. Over the past couple of weeks we have started to see an increase in thefts of motorbikes.

Below are some safety tips to consider, to keep your pride and joy safe from thieves.

•            Keep bikes in a locked garage or shed. If that is not possible leave them parked close to your house in a well-lit area.

•            Utilise a disc lock or a grip lock to secure the brakes.

•            Use a chain lock through the back wheel to secure the bike to a ground anchor or an immovable object.

•            Don't leave your keys with the motorbike, even if only for a few minutes.

•            Keep keys in a safe and secure place away from the front and back door of the house.

•            Consider attaching trackers to your bikes so they can be traced more easily if stolen.
