Did you know about the Fix My Street App

Alert message sent 04/09/2019 15:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members

Nitrous Oxide which is also known as Laughing Gas appears to be used quite frequently by drivers and especially students. It appears that people are not aware of its dangers. Being under the influence of drugs (Nitrous Oxide) and driving does carry similar penalties as if you were drink driving. Nitrous Oxide are sold in a small compressed silver cylinders. These are used in things such as Cycle pumps and also Whipped Cream. Im sure many have seen these small shiny cylinders scattered along the road side causing litter. Please could you see the attached and share with your friends/family to warn them of the dangers of using Nitrous Oxide especially if they are driving.

If you see any further littering of these canisters or any council relating issues try using an app called ‘FixMyStreet’ which can also be accessed via https://www.fixmystreet.com .
This is a free app to report things in your area which are broken, dirty, dumped (Littering). You can also report things like clearing graffiti, dog fouling, potholes or street lights that don't work. The website is not council owned but the website will forward reports directly to the council. Anything urgent then best to contact the council directly but useful if there are minor issues that does not require urgent attention.
