Rutland Neighbourhood Watch AGM

Alert message sent 14/06/2019 07:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Neighbourhood Watch

Notice of Annual General Meeting of Rutland Neighbourhood Watch Association (RNHWA).

Between 7.30pm and 9pm Monday 8th July, 2019, at the Council Chamber,
Oakham Town Council, Victoria Hall, 39, High Street, Oakham, LE15 6AH.
At this time Parking should not be a problem in Church Street (25 yards north of Victoria Hall), or at the Church Street Public Car Park opposite All Saints Church (150 yards from J/W High Street).

This year our focus is by necessity on change and our proposals, with a vote on how we will address the problems caused by the lack of volunteers for the board.
Each ‘Watch’ may nominate a representative to attend, but each Watch may only be permitted one vote on each proposal.

The Proposals are:
Without new volunteers our current Board structure is no longer feasible or effective.  It will be disbanded after negotiating the necessary changes; this will start immediately.
    1. The Board will be replaced by a group of Trustees nominated by the Members at the AGM.  The Trustees role will not be a replication of the current Board but will broadly oversee the health and direction of the organisation, guided by our current Articles of Association.  The Treasurer will maintain and oversee transparency and good financial governance.
    2. We will cancel our Company registration and convert our Charity Commission Registration to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
This will reduce costs, enable free bank charges, stop Company charges and reduce administration fees.  It will also provide legal protection for the non-profit making Association, whilst ensuring both the Trustees and our Members activities will be covered by the National NHW Public Liability Insurance scheme.
If a Watch wishes to submit alternatives for consideration, please submit a proposal to me (including who will operate it) at least 10 days before the AGM.

We hope you or a member of your Watch will attend this important development for our organisation.
