Rutland North & South - The issues identified are burglaries, burglary other than from dwellings, and theft from vehicles in beauty spots. This is an issue for the rural community and we will look to conduct regular targeted patrols and joint cross border work with Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire Police to run Op Hexagon in relation to burglaries and Op Galileo, targeting rural wildlife crime and cross border criminality. The priority remains as Rural Crime in relation to Burglaries, car crime and Hare coursing. We have noticed a reduction with Theft from vehicles in beauty spots but continue to have reports of theft from work vehicles. We ask that local residents continue not to leave any work tools in their vehicles to tackle this issue. 'If you leave it on show it will go'. With darker nights we ask that residents be aware to leave some lights on and make your homes appear occupied. We continue to utilise the ANPR camera in Rutland to identify vehicles travelling through the County either with no driving documents or linked to crime. We will continue to work closely with the local residents and will alert you as soon as crime is reported and ask that if anything suspicious is seen to report through 101.
Anyone with information about a crime in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland can call Leicestershire Police by dialing 101 (calls cost 15p) or call Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
