Alert message sent 12/12/2018 14:03:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members

Hello Hope you all are well. I would like to tell you about the spate of burglaries on the Aylestone area. This occurred on Saturday 8th Dec 2018 during the Afternoon to late evening times.

The areas where the Burglaries occurred are as follows:
• Hampshire Road
• Hereford Road
• Middlesex Road
• Aylestone Road (Old Aylestone)
• Cranfield Road

On all of the above 'forced entry' was made via the rear of the property. Valuable goods were stolen at these addresses. We are hoping if anyone who was in the area during the time could let me know if you saw anyone or vehicles acting suspicious. If you live in this area and have CCTV footage this can be emailed on

As the evenings are getting darker it is advised to do the following:
Light Up, utilise Light timers
Flood-light all passage ways and entrances into homes and businesses

Lock Up
Homes with no security measures in place are five times more likely to be burgled than those with simple security measures. Good window locks and strong deadlocks can make a big difference.
Tell trusted neighbours when leaving for a holiday or long period of time

Be Secure
Eradicate the misconception that these things don’t happen to the majority of people, because they do! It is the naivety within the majority of the general public which allows the thieves to easily break into homes because of the lack of security measures set in place.
Register your valuables with or use marking tools such as SelectaDNA. Did you know if 2 or more people on your street uses SelectaDNA we can put a sign post on your street to tell people that SelectaDNA is being used on this street. If you want to purchase these I did send a discount code for £20 instead of the retail price...

Stay Safe
