Distraction Breaks

Alert message sent 27/10/2018 18:29:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members

Hello, Hope you are well. I just came to know that we have just received reports of 3 distraction breaks that occurred on our area today. Two on Knighton Road and one on London Road.

The suspects knocks on flats as this distraction is only possible where you have a flat above or below the premises. A white male knocks on the door of the victim and states he is doing plumbing work and investigating a leak. He tells the victim that he requires to come in to inspect any damage to their property. The victim has let the 1st suspect in. During that time a 2nd male comes in and searches the premises whilst suspect 1 is in the kitchen with the victim.

Both these males are described as white about 5ft 10" one being thin and the other a chubby build. No further description has been given so far.
If you were in the area and seen any males similar looking acting suspicious please let us know. You can call 101 quoting reference LEP-271018-0434.

At the moment this is being investigated and if I have any more information to share I will let you know. Please could I ask that if you have any elderly friends or family to make them aware of this Distraction Burglary.
Stay Safe
