Do you have a Noise Nuisance Complaint

Alert message sent 02/08/2018 12:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Neighbourhood Link Members

Hello, I have been told by a colleague who is responsible for all the calls that we get relating to Anti-social Behaviour. Most of the complaints are noise related from loud music, DIY work from neighbour, slamming doors, banging on walls, and the list goes on. I would like to spend a moment to reflect on other ways of reporting and tackling this type of problem. Unfortunately the Police cannot attend all noise related incidents and I would encourage members to firstly get in touch with the local City Council to address the noise issue as they deal with these types of complaints. Unless there is evidence of someone is in danger such as a domestic taking place and you can hear excessive shouting, screaming and violence which would be a good time to call the Police.

The best step to take for members who live in the 'city area' who want to report Noise such as loud music are urged to report via https://my.leicester.gov.uk/

If you register you can not only report Noise complaints but also report a whole variety of other council related issues. Please note this is for the City area and not for Wigston Oadby Area as they have a separate system.

Below are a list of categories you can report via the City Council members area online and worth saving the link just in case as you don't know when you need it.

Please also see attached Leaflet for your information and hope this will be useful to you.

Stay Safe.
